Hello,
I'm Sonny Wilson, and I appreciate you stopping by my profile. I'm excited to share a bit about myself to help you get to know me better. I grew up in Dublin, Texas, and moved to Burnet, Texas, during middle school. I graduated from Burnet High School in 2005, where I was fortunate to be part of some incredible teams. Throughout my sports career, I participated in two state football championships, two basketball playoff runs, track, and an elite swimming program for several years.
Sports have always been a major passion in my life. Having grown up around the Parks & Recreation industry, I was introduced to it early on, thanks to my dad, who has been a Parks & Rec Director for over 25 years. He's served communities in Dublin, Copperas Cove, New Braunfels, and now Valdez, Alaska. Starting as a young volunteer, I helped coach rec leagues, set up, break down, and assist with all city events—a lifestyle that became second nature to me.
Over time, I embraced this world wholeheartedly, taking on the rewarding journey of teaching and coaching in both private and public schools. I also run my own business, Next Level Sports, which serves athletes of all levels across the Hill Country and Texas. Through this business, we offer leagues, tournaments, recreation programs, select sports programs, and run a sports training facility.
Throughout this journey, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Integrated Studies, with minors in psychology, business, and health from Abilene Christian University, graduating with academic honors. Today, I teach and coach at Georgetown High School while continuing to grow Next Level Sports.
